Words of the Wise

"It is better to sin and repent
than abstain and regret"

I'd quote you sir, but I fear you'll sue me:)

Absolutely. Just don't repent too much though.

"Chronic remorse, as all the moralists are agreed, is a most undesirable sentiment. If you have bahaved badly, repent, make what amends you can and address yourself to the task of behaving better next time. On no account brood over your wrongdoing. Rolling in the muck is not the best way of getting clean."

- Aldous Huxley

Regarding the post, a tad obvious but nice to be reminded nonetheless.

with a little bit of luck,
when temptation comes...
you'll give right in

The best way to overcome a temptation is to succumb to it - as Oscar Wilde said. Adam and Eve did it, so why not their progeny? After all, God too has to take a part of the blame. Did not Omar Khayyam write in his Rubaiyat:

Oh Thou who Man of baser earth didst make
And even with Paradise didst devise the snake
For all the sins wherewith man's face is blackened,
Man's forgiveness give AND TAKE !

The quote with a well hidden defeatist attitude in it and you know, I'm not wrong
