You sho' get around. I once had and lost a Josh Kirby illustrated large format version of Terry Pratchett's Eric. Found Gaiman on the same arc, looking for comic spin-offs (G did Mort, the comic), discovered his books (G's), movies (check out Mirrormask if you ain't already!)and was dee-lighted to find he had also done a version of Black Orchid. I love dat comic, it's kinda like about plant sprites. Dark and even has intersections with The Swamp Thing. Now I'm getting too cultish; but check out Black Orchid.
I LOVED mirrormask. even the soundtrack is brilliant. Been dying to check out Black Orchid but I don't think his work is easily available in India...yet.I like Pratchett a lot too, but you're right...Gaiman is darker.Have you checked out his blog? Hmm...I notice I'm getting a bit stalkerish about him now.But but man's got magic.
yuh go dat rite! The Dark Side of the Sun and all. Am a full set discworld fan, have been since me mum once asked what I was laughing over at 3:00 a.m.
Okeh; sourced Mort, the comic, at Darya Ganj. Noida teksons has the new gaiman paperback novel.Black Orchid at Midland bk shp (basement opp bhelpuri joint in south ex, teksons corner. Mdlnd alwys had some innerstin comics on their shelves (that is if you have the gumtion to go rooting in the kids section; chuckle, also got some comic eroia on the same shelves in dah kiddies section. The black orchid graphic novel is a gaiman guest app. the orignial black orchid was much earlier and noted for it's difference from other comic storylines. I personally dug the cover art most. Too bad I gave away my old black orchid singles last week to my yezdi blog co-author. Kept the covers, though. Now what hap 2 yr herbiage recomendation?
PS: Look up Abbot's 'Flatland', prob the first sci-fantasy story and kinda like the beowulf of the genre.

This video just reminded me how much I like fairy tales.
